The safety and well-being of the mother and baby are a priority for SANSA Airlines. For this reason‚ pregnant passengers must comply with the requirements set forth in this policy before traveling.

Passengers who are within sixty (60) days of their estimated due date must present a valid medical certificate that expressly confirms their fitness to travel by air.

Medical Certificate Requirements

The certificate must include‚ at a minimum:

  • The passenger's full name.
  • Estimated due date.
  • Date the certificate was issued.
  • Express confirmation that the passenger is medically fit to travel by air.
  • A statement that the trip does not pose a foreseeable risk to the mother or the baby.
  • Name‚ signature‚ and contact information of the responsible medical professional.

To ensure that the medical evaluation remains valid‚ the certificate must have been issued within the five (5) days prior to the scheduled flight date.

Restrictions Following Childbirth

For medical and operational safety reasons‚ female passengers who are within seven (7) days of giving birth will not be accepted for travel.

In exceptional cases‚ they may be accepted only if they present a current medical certificate that expressly states that their physical condition allows them to travel safely. Final acceptance will be subject to review and approval by SANSA Airlines.

Verification of Medical Documentation

SANSA Airlines reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any medical certificate or document submitted by a passenger. The following documents will not be accepted:

  • Handwritten documents.
  • Incomplete documents.
  • Altered documents.
  • Illegible documents.
  • Documents issued by sources of dubious origin.

To facilitate proper travel planning and provide better passenger service‚ we recommend that you disclose your pregnancy status during the booking process or as soon as possible before your flight date.
